Installation Assistance for Enveloc LocalRemote

The following steps will walk you through the EnvelocĀ® LocalRemote software installation. After completing each screen click on the OK button to continue to the next step. If you have to interrupt the process, any information entered will have been saved - just keep clicking OK until you get to the point at which you stopped.

First, ensure that the external drive you will be using is attached, recognized by your system and assigned a local drive letter. Then download the Enveloc installation file by clicking on the link to the left. When prompted, run the file or save it to a specific location and run it when you are ready to proceed.

Create your encryption key to ensure your data's security.

Attention: EnvelocĀ®'s software can not restore data without the client's encryption key. EnvelocĀ® will automatically print out 2 copies of your password when the installation process is completed. If you do not have a printer available we recommend writing down your password in 2 separate places.

Note the option to store a copy of the key on Enveloc's server. Check with your administrator on whether this is allowed for you.

Enter company and contact information to register your PC or Server with Enveloc's Data Centers.

Billing Information: Commercial Clients may select Establish Company Account. Individual Users please enter credit card information.

If using a credit card for billing, you may opt to require the encryption key to view billing information.

Print Encryption Key

It is absolutely essential that the encryption key be printed and stored safely. Please ensure that it is.

Choose whether to run Remote Backup as Application or Service. Default is Application, click Show Advanced Settings to configure Service and other settings.

Note that some options may not be available if running as service

If installing on a server, it is recommended to Run Service as User

Enter user credentials for running service. Account used must have adequate rights.

After you click OK there will be several messages as the service is started and stopped. If an error is returned, check that your system's policies allows "log on as service for that user account."

Complete installation.

After communication tests you will be presented with an opportunity to print the license agreement. The Open File Access (OFA) configuration menu will then open. See Help documentation for details on OFA. Afterwards, the Enveloc Administration menu will be shown. You must close this menu for the backup to operate automatically.
